Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?

No referral is needed. You can book directly by calling your preferred clinic or online.

What can I expect at my physiotherapy appointment?

A physiotherapy appointment will include a subjective assessment where we talk about your problem as well a physical assessment where we assess what the injury looks like, feels like and how it moves. Observation of movement and palpation of the muscles and joints to identify stiff or problem areas are important parts of the consultation. On completion of the initial assessment, your physio will devise a treatment plan which will incorporate an exercise program as part of your rehab.

What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to the injured area while maintaining your privacy.

  • Lower limb: Loose pants or shorts
  • Upper body: Singlet and bra that allows access to shoulders/upper back
  • Lower back: Comfortable underwear (towels provided)
  • Screenings (e.g., dance/gym): Bathers, leotard, or bike shorts
  • Foot/ankle injuries: Bring your usual shoes or runners

These suggestions help ensure a thorough and respectful assessment.

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • WorkCover and TAC patients: Please provide your claim details and employer information prior to, or at the time of, your appointment.
  • Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP) and DVA patients: Please bring a valid referral from your GP.
  • Relevant medical information: Please bring any relevant scans, imaging reports, or referral letters from your GP or specialist that relate to your condition.

Do I get a rebate for physiotherapy services?

Yes, if you have physio extras cover. We’re BUPA and Medibank preferred providers at selected clinics. Claims can be made on the spot via Tyro, you’ll just pay the gap. Your rebate will vary depending on your private health insurer and level of cover. Please note that some health funds’ digital cards are not compatible with our Tyro machines, so we advise that you always bring your physical card with you.

Do your clinics offer the Medicare Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP formerly CDM and EPC)?

Yes, with a GP referral under CCMP, you’re eligible for up to 5 rebated sessions per year.

You will need to pay for your consultation in full at the time of your appointment. We will process your Medicare claim on your behalf, and Medicare will deposit the rebate directly into your nominated bank account.
