Lying on your back, roll up a small towel and place under the small of your neck. Make sure your neck is in a neutral position before commencing this exercise. Gently nod your chin, as if you are trying to make a double chin. You should effectively be pushing the back of your neck down into the towel and lengthening through the back of the neck. You should feel the deep neck muscles at the back of your neck working. The movement should be small and you should not feel the larger muscles at the front of your neck activating. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat.
